In 2015, we acquired a community for $1.2M that was in rough shape:

  • Overgrown trees with dangerous falling limbs

  • Roads broken apart by roots

  • A dilapidated community center sealed off after years of neglect

We immediately tackled the safety issues — clearing trees, repairing infrastructure — and spent time on-site, speaking directly with residents.

What we discovered surprised us:

  • Long-time tenants knew of abandoned utility stubs from forgotten spaces.

  • They remembered that the community center once included an apartment, hidden away after a roof cave-in.

By listening to residents and acting on their insights, we were able to:
✅ Add 5 new homes
✅ Rehabilitate the community center and recover the apartment
✅ Create a safer, more livable, and navigable community

Three years later, we sold the property for $2.5M — but in truth, the financial return wasn’t the only win. The real success was restoring pride and stability for the families who had stuck with the community for decades.

At Bridgeview, we’ve found again and again: when you put residents first, the financial results follow.
